• The ring topology connects each node to the next
node using a single circle of cable. A transmission
moves from node to node around the circle in a
clockwise direction.
• As each node receives a transmission, it accepts
any data addressed to it and forwards the
transmission on to the next node. Because a
transmission is passed from node to node, the
failure of one node can affect all the node
following the failed node. Adding node also can
slow down the transmission process.
