Deceased persons

an ambulance the remains of any person who:
(a) has been declared dead by a physician; or
(b) is obviously dead by reason of decapitation, transection, decomposition or
otherwise;
unless the remains of the person are in a public place and it is in the public interest
that the remains be removed from that place.
(2) Notwithstanding subsection (1) but subject to subsection (3), the remains of a
person may be transported in other cases where:
(a) no alternate means are conveniently and expediently available; or
(b) the operator has entered into a contractual arrangement approved by the
board to provide those services.
(3) No operator and no attendant shall transport or permit to be transported any
remains of a person unless proper arrangements have been made to ensure that an
alternate ambulance is readily available for ambulance service during the removal.
(4) Where an ambulance does transport the remains of a person pursuant to this
section, the remains are to be transported only as far as the closest mortuary or to
a place as directed by a coroner or a physician.
