Bandura(1986) developed social learning theory into social cognitive theory by examining self regulatory processes. He said that people seek reciprocity between their behavior and environmental factors-- that is, people will have a higher motivation to learn if results of that learning will be positively appreciated by their surrounding social group. Bandura also said that people learn behaviors and consequences of behaviors vicariously, by simply observing environmental cues and behaviors modeled by people around them, assessing their performance through this dynamic.
