The aims of the evaluation are to look at the standard of the English education in Thailand and the purpose of the textbook’s author whether they have the same concept which will be suitable for learners.

According to the Basic Education Core Curriculum A.D. 2008, the aims of the English programme for all schools are to reach the standard of four strands which consist of:

• Strand 3: Language and relationship with other learning areas

The evaluation of textbook illustration is related to how pictures and texts are corresponded and how they can attract learners to be more interested in the lesson.

The evaluation of physical make-up is mostly about the external appearance such as the cover and the size of the textbook and the quality of textbook’s binding.
