3.1.1 Design concept of HWCI subsystemThis chapter describes the identified HWCIs from a functional point of view.3.1.1.1 Computers (CMP)RoleThe HWCI CMP is the set of equipment installed at the CER, MMC, OCC Training Room, andMRTA HQ. These equipments are of 2 types:1) Computer2) ServerCompositionServers - Servers are based on Intel Xeon series 64 bit computers from Oracle Sun or equivalent, operating under Solaris 10/11 Operating Environment.1990.044>>There are 2 types of server configuration:1) CMS ServerThe CMS server hosts the SCADA software system. The SCADA software is deployed on two CMS servers configured in Primary and Standby andare installed as CMS at OCC CER and Main Workshop MMC respectively. These two serversare used as a hot standby configuration.2) DB ServerThe DB server hosts the relational database Oracle 11 which is part of the SCADA System NDI.The two DB servers are each installed at the OCCCER and Main Workshop MMC respectively. Each set of servers are equipped with a KVM console. The main functions available through theserver terminal are:a. access to the operating system,b. system maintenance,c. system start-up,d. system shutdown, ande. date-time set-up3.1.1.2 WorkstationsA Workstation is a Windows 7 PC equipped with a mouse and a keyboard.<There are 2 types of Workstation configuration,1) Operator WorkstationsThese workstations host the system GUI that allows the operators to access to the SCADAfunctions. Workstations are connected to the operational CMS servers through the BTN.2) Development and Training WorkstationThis workstation hosts the tools and software for the modification of GUI and is able to switchconnection between the mainline network and the internal network of the Development Serverand Simulator PC
