the rituals begin during the woman pregnancy. some of these ritual are still practiced today but some are not these are food taboos certain food that pregnant women are not supposed to eat these include hot and spicy food and broken crackers or cookies. in the past close to the time of birth these were various sysbolic that signified an easy delivery of the baby. for exemple family member left door open and did not repair room door or fireplaces in the kitchen today as in the past there is special care to keep the mother and baby well after the birth. the mother traditionally eat seaweed soup, full of iron, to regain her strength. she is also not supposed to drink cold water for 21 day.
at the age of 100 day, these is a special ceremony. family, friends, and neighbors gather to admire the baby give thanks for the baby health, and have a big meal. more important is the first birthday. at this time, the baby, dressed in a tradition outfit, is seated in front of a table with all kinds of object on it.
