Task:
Read short passages and record mistakes to verify progress in fluency at least twice.
- The students will work in partners to time themselves reading a short passage.
- While one student reads the passage, the other student uses a stopwatch to time him and circles any words that were not pronounced correctly or were skipped.
- Each student will count the words that his partner read correctly.
- The students will make changes to improve their performance by taking the words that were skipped or mispronounced and syllabicate (break them up into syllables) them.
- The students will read the passage within the next week to record progress.
Criterion:
