The analysis carried out in the present paper clearly shows the
potential of regenerative ORC for the exploitation of a large number of
geothermal fields, with source temperature below 130 °C. In any case
the convenience of regenerative ORC cycles can be assessed only after
the definition of a size (depending of the reservoir fluid production)
and by a detailed analysis of the cost involved in the design of the
cycle, which can be quite higher than the conventional ORC cycle due
the additional regenerative heat exchanger.
