PPW hydrolysis was also performed by substituting Termamyl120L by amylase UEB-S. The reaction was carried out with 15% PPWand at different enzyme concentrations: 45 U, 90 U or 135 U. Thereaction was incubated at 70◦C and pH 5.0. The saccharificationstep was performed using 9 U of amyloglucosidase at 60◦C, pH 4.5for 24 h. Samples were withdrawn at different time intervals andthe reducing sugars assays were carried out as mentioned above.
