Here we report the first occurrence of natural fullerenes from the Indian subcontinent, in the intertrappean sediments of Anjar (Kutch), which are believed to encompass the KPB . We have also determined the spectroscopic properties of C60 fullerene that demonstrate the presence of its high-pressure-temperature phase. The co-occurrence of fullerene and other impact signatures at Anjar as well as at other KPB sites indicates that it can be used as a definitive geochemical marker for identifying impact horizons in terrestrial sediments. The occurrence of high-pressure phase of fullerene and irdium in Anjar KPB section have provided evidence for the impact metamorphism during the K-P- boundary
