3.5. Comparison of dog rose with orange
Since orange is a good source of AA. For this reason the amount of AA in dog rose was compared with orange. Orange extract was analyzed in the same LC condition. Fig. 2 shows typical chromatogram of an orange sample. As can be seen, the retention time is in agreement with that of AA standard peak, and there is a good resolution. The AA content in orange sample was obtained 76±2.1 mg per 100 g fresh weight using the freezing method. The obtained results show that the amount of AA in dog rose fruit is about six times more than that in the orange sample.
