The way that Clyde's early sport hunts were first organized in 1987 is still the template that functions today. Nammautaq's members determine the number of permits from the overall quota that will be offered to non-Inuit hunters in a particular year. And clients are still located through the agency of southern Canadian brokers/wholesalers who retain a substantial portion, approximately 42%, of the fee paid by a visitor for a trophy hunt—or about $15,000 from the overall price of $35,000 paid to southern wholesalers.
