Provide care by managing ABC problems
In those nurse–patient relationships where the patient’s airway
was assessed as not free or threatened, the SANSs had to provide
care by managing ABC problems. This meant that the airway was
secured manually or with utilities. In several nurse–patient relationships
oxygen was administered to provide care to ABC problems
and in some cases managing ABC problems was made from
two different medical perspectives: either it was about managing
problems related to cardiac problems or related to a risk of hypovolaemia
in the patient.
