H1a, which predicted a positive impact of organisational empowerment on job
satisfaction, was supported by our data. Model 4 (Table IV) shows that “authority
granting”, one of the factors of organisational empowerment, has a significant impact
on job satisfaction ðß ¼ 0:531; p , 0.01).
The results also supported H1b, which predicted a positive impact of organisational
empowerment on affective commitment. The findings in Model 6 indicate a significant
positive relationship between “authority granting” and affective commitment
(ß ¼ 0.526, p , 0.01)
