Since we were on a 2 hour travel baby recall, we decided to do the Bodensee for the 4th of July weekend. We stayed in the town of Meersburg. It is a great city on the German side of the lake that overlooks the Appenzell alps in Switzerland. The Bodensee is a fun place to experience because there is such a local vibe. Meersburg has it’s own private swimming pool area which includes a lake front, several pools, a lawn, restaurant, park, and even a platform to jump off of in the lake. Since there is a lack of sand in other spots, this was the perfect way to spend one of our days. We also got to do the mandatory boating tour of a portion of the lake.
In typical European fashion, there was another random highlight that our kids Loved. It’s a place called Affenberg Salem, about 15 minutes from Meersburg. Here is the website:
