Terminals get “pulled” in random or isolated condition when they are not handled in a horizontal
orientation. The terminals will sag and get outside the outer edge of the flange which does not
allow the packaging to protect the terminals. Typically this is the outer wrap or two that is affected.
I would recommend discarding the outside wrap (s) and processing terminals that have been ensured
to have been inside the outer edge of the flange.
Attached are proper terminal storage and handling practices I put together and a quick discussion on reel handling by Lear.
