Accordingly, Uganda, the country with the lowest competitiveness score among the 44 countries sample, exhibits the highest rate of early-stage entrepreneurial activity, while Switzerland, the most competitive economy in our sample, is deep in the bottom half of the spectrum, at only 7 of the working-age population. Of the highly competitive economies, the United States has the highest percentage of early-stage entrepreneurship, at 11, and in the moderately competitive group, Latin American and Asian countries, such as China, Colombia Chile and Brazil, have the highest percentages, while European countries in the sample have lower early-stage entrepreneurial activity
