Discussion
Our study is one of the first to simultaneously assess the influence
of both the perceived availability and the GIS-based presence
of fast food on fast-food consumption. Both in unadjusted and adjusted
models, there was no evidence for an association between
neighborhood fast-food availability (perceived or GIS-based) and
weekly fast-food consumption in this study sample.
