Specificity
was calculated as the proportion of measurements
that correctly diagnosed a cow without SCK as healthy
(BHBA concentration measured at the particular time
of the day was below the cut-point considered and the
daily average BHBA concentration was below the cutpoint
considered). The positive predictive value was
determined as the proportion of measurements equal to
or greater than the cut-point considered at which the
cow was truly suffering from SCK (daily average BHBA
concentration was equal to or above the cut-point considered).
The negative predictive value was calculated
as the proportion of measurements below the cut-point
considered at which the cow was truly healthy (daily
average BHBA concentration was below the cut-point
considered).
