In addition, increase of the surfactant concentration facilitates the preparation of waterin-oil emulsions used in this procedure.
Therefore, Triton X-114 concentration of 7% (w/v) was selected as the surfactant for further experiments.
Although the concentration of surfactant used for emulsification did not present significant effect on the extraction efficiency, it influenced the time required to break the emulsions.
