Although qualitative method provides us with an in-depth view of the subject under study, it limits the generalizability or validity of the findings. However, because the firms studied were diverse in their geographical location and industry within the manufacturing sector in Virginia, because they all competed in international markets and because they all are considered large corporations the findings of this qualitative research are highly likely to reflect the experiences of other more manufacturing companies. The study did focus on the manufacturing companies; consequently, the results may not be applicable to service organizations.
