Treatment effects on GABA content were analyzed with Analysis
of Variance (ANOVA), using the General Linear Model procedure
(GLM) in SPSS 17 (Chicago, IL, USA). Data of experiment
1 were analyzed with Cultivars (two levels), soaking temperature
(three levels) and germination temperature (five levels) as
fixed factors in ANOVA, while the replicate was put as random
factor. Data of experiment 2 were analyzed with Cultivars (two
levels), pH level treatments (three levels) as fixed factors in
ANOVA, while the replicate was put as random factor. Data of
experiment 3 were analyzed with Cultivars (two levels), L-Glu
concentration treatments (four levels) as fixed factors in ANOVA,
while the replicate was put as random factor. Data of experiment
4 were analyzed with Cultivars (two levels), GA3 concentration
treatments (four levels) as fixed factors in ANOVA, while
the replicate was put as random factor. Duncan’s Multiple Range
Tests was used to determine significant differences between
means.
