The Bergen Maritime Museum is beautifully situated on the Nygårdshöhe, right on the premises of the University of Bergen. In this remarkable museum stone building you will find exhibitions that tell about the history of navigation and their importance to Bergen and Norway, from its beginnings to the present day. Exhibits include, among other models spectacular ship finds from the Viking Age, Hanseatic cogs, proud full-rigged ships, rowing boats , Bergen "old steamer" and super tankers.
