• Colour (Munsell codes, derived through visual comparison between soil in situ and colour charts);
• Texture (sand, silt & clay percentage), derived using the hydrometer method;
• Organic matter content (given by Loss On Ignition);
• Total chemical parameters, including pH, total base saturation, ash content (remainder after ignition), total exchangeable cations and C: N ratio; and
• Milligrams per kg, or ppm (parts per million) measurements for 35 elemental contents (total, extractable or exchangeable values), giving information for a total of 21 elements.
