4.5. Locality and mortality
Of 399 patients, 247 cases or 61.9% lived in rural areas and 152 cases or 38.1% in urban areas. The mean hospitalization was 35.6 days (range 1–186 days) (Table 4). Of the 399 patients, six died, all of whom had scald burns and were 4 years old or younger. One patient presented with 25% of TBSA and three with TBSA >40%. We have not recorded any case of intentional burns in our study.
