government reform and healthcare self-regulation standards. The
Innovative Decision-Making ProcessesModel in Fig. 1 may also provide
some operational insights for operating healthcare service providers.
5.2. Implications for healthcare executives and practitioners
This study also provides several implications for healthcare
executives and practitioners. Those implications are related to the
generation of innovative strategies healthcare executives and practitioners
should use in rolling out innovative ideas and the useful role of
IT in the innovative process. First, for organizational success,
executives and practitioners should be open to any suggestions and/
or changes, and they should align their decision-making strategy with
the mission of the company while being compliant with government
regulations. Second, to roll out innovations effectively, management
should maintain a positive relationship with their employees and
engage in extensive information sharing across organizational levels
by applying a bottom–up approach rather than solely emphasizing a
top–down approach. In other words, to effectively trickle-down the
innovation, healthcare executives and practitioners should encourage
interactions between different departments. Third, organizations
should spend more on IT adoptions and implementations as most of
the changes in medical practices evolve around IT where management
can expect a large ROI.
