Belkin collaborates with Linksys to go for SMB, expects to be leader of middle to upper market and aim to gain market share 10% from SMB business in Thailand. Joins hands with SI and dealers for bright future of internet connected devices.
Mr. BP Tang, Director of Linksys and Belkin in Asia said after having transited to Belkin in March this year, Linksys has seen the opportunity to go for SMB market while previously Belkin was strong in consumer market and Linksys was strong in mid market. When Linksys was acquired by Cisco, Linksys SMB products merged into Cisco’s Small Business division. Now Linksys is being under the Belkin, Linksys will be bringing a portfolio that will target SMB businesses and resellers that will differ from its retail line, with features and functionality suited for SMB. SMB portfolio includes infrastructure, secure, data connectivity solutions that are purposely built to address the flexibility, scalability and ease of use needs of SMB customers. Linksys plans to roll out a suite of high quality and reliable connectivity and security solutions that provide scalable connectivity to meet the growing demands of the small and medium business. The phased roll-out starts with core infrastructure products for Wireless, Routing and Switching and IP Surveillance, then smart cloud based network management platform and a full office automation solution.
It can be said that Linksys will penetrate SMB business which the employees are not over than 100 while Belkin will focus on lower market with cost effective. Linksys will help SMB for business connectivity with applications that help employees work anywhere anytime and will be the first vendor to provide completed solution for SMB.
BP said the competition of internet connected devices for middle to upper market is not very severe as it focuses on technology, not price. Significantly, there’re no competitors for completed SMB solution in SMB market as most vendors focus on enterprise market. Linksys expects to gain market share 10% through 50 dealers in Thailand and collaborates with SI to reach out more customers.
BP added that Linksys plans to educate the dealers for SMB business. For revenue generation in Thailand, 50% comes from network devices and now Thailand’s market is being ranked as No. 2 in SEA, No. 1 is Indonesia due to greater population and enablement to do marketing for all ranges of solutions.
