Some advocates of the alternative values approach see no possibility of chang the male-dominant culture, because the otily way to get ahead is to adapt to the rules. Others argue that radical change is possible and necessary and that abandoning what is distinctly female is too high a price to pay for career success. Thus, the goal becomes designing alternative organizations rather than adapting to existing ones. Such alternative organizations would be egalitar- ian, relying on face-to-face interactions and shared leadership. The exodus of women from large corporations to entrepreneurial endeavors may reflect this approach. Women who succeed in traditional, male-dominated cultures are often seen as abandoning their female voices and no longer representing broader fe- male interests
