Intelligence refers to ability. Learning and thinking styles are not abilities but, rather, preferred ways of using one's abilities.In fact, teachers will tell you that children approach learning and thinking in an amazing variety of ways. Teacher themselves also vary in their styles of learning and thinking. None of us has just a single learning and thinking style: each of us has a profile of many styles. Individual vary so much that literally hundreds of learning and thinking styles have been proposed by educators and psychologist. Our coverage of learning and thinking styles is not meant to be exhaustive but introduces two widely discussed sets of styles: impulsive/reflective and deep/surface.
