The aim of the team
It is important for the team to be able to provide structured
care for women with heart disease during pregnancy. To
do this, the communication and education of health-care
professionals involved with this group of women must be
continuously improved. This will mean that overall health
system performance (safety, efficacy and appropriateness of
health-care intervention) will rise. By monitoring standards
and progress through audit, the team will be able to optimize
their resources in caring for the patients. The final step would
be to facilitate a forum meeting for sharing knowledge, allowing
peer review and critiquing current evidence relating to
this group of women.
