Therefore, development of an efficient and optimal rehydration strategy could
prove beneficial during high-intensity activities. To further
explore this supposition, we tested the hypothesis that rehydration
with deep-ocean water (915 m) drawn from Kona,
HI (Kona Deep™) at the Hawaii Ocean Science and
Technology Park (National Energy Laboratory of Hawaii
Authority) will improve post-exercise performance over
mountain spring water or a carbohydrate-based sports
drink.
