Manawthukha had a medium kernel size with an L/B ratio of
2.75 and a slender and translucent endosperm. On the other hand,
Basmati possessed long, slender and chalky endosperm. No
significant difference was observed between the IL and the
recipient parent Manawthukha for grain length and breadth, nor
for kernel length and breadth. No significant difference was
observed in the TGW of the IL and Manawthukha. For endosperm
appearance, six lines had translucent endosperms and the other six
lines had chalky endosperms.
