2. Ploy Suoy Dance
Ploy is a wind instrument or specifically a mouth organ type of instrument. This dance is associated with legends from India to Southeast Asia, where this unique kind of vegetable has given birth to several civilizations. A folk dance originating in the Kampung Spoeu province, Dancers blow into the mouth organs to recall the origin of time and to resort to the myth of the eternal return.
3. Peacock of Pailin Dance
The peacock is a symbol of happiness. Whether of not people like to imitate the peacock, this dance is adapted in the most realistic fashion possible. The close resemblance of the canvas to the lively colors of beautiful wings, spectacularly suggests a courting scene between a peacock and a peahen. This dance is said to bring happiness and prosperity to villagers.
4. Ward-off the evil spirit dance
This newly created fold dance is called Robaim Kamchatt Uppatrup Changrai or Ward-off the evil spirit dance. Our research team was inspired by the pithi lieng arakk (worship of the spirit ceremony) of the muslim-‐Khmer in the Kampung Tralach village, Sala Lek Praim district, Kampung Chhnaing province.
