Anything but chicken feet
One of the problems facing a foreigner who has lived in Thailand for many years is that being an "old hand'' you are supposed to be able to eat anything proffered without a hint of a grimace.
On my forays to Isan over the years I have gallantly munched my way through half the insect kingdom and indulged in all sorts of exotic northeastern fare, including giant grasshoppers, fearsome-looking insects, waterbugs and unidentified crawling things.
However, it has not only been insects. I have also had the pleasure of dining on frogs, lizards, snakes and snails. But after all these years, I still can't handle chicken feet.
