Water bugs are usually large, flat-bodied, brownish bugs. They live in most parts of the world in quiet ponds and streams. There are about 200 species. They have sharp, piercing beaks for sucking the juices from the water creatures that they capture. Giant water bug are the world's largest bugs. They are up to four inches (10 cm) long. Water bugs feed or algae, inches, snails, small frogs, fish, and a other animals they can prey on. Giant water bugs are sometimes called " electric light bug" because they often swarm around electric lights at night.
