The purpose of my research study is to examine the convergence and divergence
of self-leadership practices witin different national cultures of multinational corporation,
exploring how the practice of self leadership takes place and affects the organization. My
study examined the application of self-leadership in the multinational Asia service
centers from a cross-cultural perspective. I explored the cultural perspectives of Manz
and Neck's (2004) definition of self-leadership as a "process of influencing oneself" (p.
5) and shared their assumption that "if we ever hope to be effective leaders of others, we
need first to be able to lead ourselves effectively " (p. 2).
