THE LITTLE BOY AND THE BEAR A little boy had gone into the forest to cut wood. All at once he saw a bear coming towards him. What was to be done? Climb up a tree? It was too late. Take to flight? It was impossible. The boy took his cap and threw it at the bear. The bear sniffed at the cap, and during this time the boy ran away. But the bear did not waste his time, and in a few minutes he overtook the boy. The latter threw his coat at him, then his waistcoat and then his tie. Each time the bear stopped to sniff at what the boy had thrown at him. Thus the boy was able to reach his mother's house at the edge of the forest.
