The GR-XC3S-1500 board is a compact, low-cost development
board, which has been developed in cooperation
with Gaisler Research to enable the evaluation of the
LEON 2 SPARC V8 processor systems. This board is targeted
for the development of small LEON based systems
and as general purpose FPGA development environment.
The board incorporates a 1.5 million gates FPGA device
from the Xilinx Spartan 3 family, 8 MBytes Flash PROM
and 64 MBytes SDRAM. More information to the evaluation
board can be found in [8]. A given JTAG interface can
be used to transfer the synthesised VHDL code to the
FPGA on the development board. To upload the software to
RAM or Flash Memory and to monitor the behaviour of the
target system a serial connection (RS232) is used.
Fig. 6 shows Xilinx target board GR-XC3S1500, which
is supported by Gaisler Research and is suitable for the development
ofLEON 2 processor core.
