Dear Colleagues,
In support of our company’s strong commitment to compliance, I encourage all employees and contractors to use the Chevron Hotline to report any activities that may involve violations of the law, Chevron’s Business Conduct and Ethics Code, or company policies. The Hotline provides a direct, effective and risk-free way to report suspected violations.
As you may have seen from Chevron’s Ethics Alerts, calls to the Hotline have resulted in investigations that have detected fraud and other violations. In many cases, the company would not have become aware of such violations without an employee or contractor speaking up.
The Chevron Hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and calls can be made anonymously as permitted by local law. NAVEX Global (formerly Global Compliance/Alertline®), a third-party service provider, reports each Hotline contact to our Corporate Compliance department for review and appropriate follow-up. Information may be shared confidentially with the Chief Compliance Officer, Global Security, Corporate Audit, Corporate Law or others as necessary to complete an investigation. In cases involving violations of the law, information also may be shared with appropriate regulatory or law enforcement authorities.
The company does not tolerate any form of retaliation for reports made in good faith to the Hotline.
Details regarding the types of calls that should be directed to the Chevron Hotline, as well as instructions for submitting a report by telephone, email or regular mail, are included on the Chevron Hotline website. Information regarding the Hotline is displayed in our offices and operating facilities worldwide.
Suspected compliance violations also can be reported to a supervisor, manager, Global Security or Corporate Audit. For concerns involving workplace disputes, employees are encouraged to use their local dispute resolution process, including discussion with their supervisor or manager, Human Resources representative, or the Global Office of Ombuds. Formal programs for dispute resolution, such as our Steps to Employee Problem Solution, also are available in many locations.
Sincerely,
John Watson
Chairman and CEO
