ABSTRACT
The trial was conducted at dairy cattle farms. In Tumbon Hintok, Amphoe Ronphiboon, Nakornsrithummarat Province from 10 march to 07 June 1998. Twelve lactating crossbreed Holstein-Friesian were assigned into two groups in a completely randomized design. The treatments were: a) native grass + 5 kg of concentrate feed as a control and b) native grass + 2.5 kg concentrate feed + 2.1 kg of leucaena leaf meal. Each farmer has 3 dairy cattle in control and in the Leucaena treatment. the results showed that the control and Leucaena treatment gave an average milk production of 8.2 and 8.7 kg per head per day,respectively which were not significantly different (p>0.05). However, using Leucaena leaves as protein supplement gave more income.
