The undergraduate course (POPLHLTH 202) is a core, compulsory
course for all students undertaking the Bachelor of Health Science
(BHSc) degree. The BHSc program was reviewed in 2013 with changes
in graduate profile and curriculum identified as part of this process. As
with the students in the POPLHLTH 701 course, POPLHLTH 202 students
are not expected to have prior knowledge of research methods. The
latter course aims to help learners develop an understanding of the different
elements of the research process, including the formulation of
questions, the selection of appropriate methodology and familiarity
with research methods (University of Auckland, 2015b).
