Data showing the association between alcohol intake and the intake of various nutritional factors is presented in Table 2. The amount of intake for total calorie, fat, and protein increased with an increase in alcohol consumption, with the exception of carbohydrate intake. Subjects who drank more than 40 g of alcohol per day were likely to consume greater amounts of the measured nutritional factors compared to those who did not drink alcohol. The exception to this was seen in total caloric intake and carbohydrates.
