BANGKOK, 23 November 2015 (NNT) - The Ministry of Industry is urgently developing industrial clusters to boost Thai industries' competitiveness.
Minister of Industry Atchaka Sibunruang on Monday said in a seminar on Thai industrial clusters, chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, that the government had approved the industrial cluster policy and instructed relevant units to support it. The government had assigned the ministry to be the main agency in implementing the policy and to work as the center in coordinating each cluster, said the minister.
The Ministry of Finance is responsible for tax incentives for the clusters.
The industrial cluster policy is aimed at developing areas with the potential to be a production base of target industries, especially those that use high technologies. The policy is believed to help increase competitiveness of the Thai industrial sector.
