We have already seen how the Department of Mines and Geology,
after a period of gestation in the Department of Interior, was transferred
to Agriculture in 1909. A similar change took place in 1921, when
the Department of Forestry, which had matured under the control of
Interior, was also transferred to Agriculture. As the History reports it,
"After the service in the Ministry of Agriculture had been well arranged,
it was deemed proper to transfer the Department of Forestry" to it. In
the same year, a new Department of Fisheries was established and also
made a part of the Ministry of Agriculture.
