. Effective workplaces (A) The effective-workplaces intervention method involved managers, safety representatives, and employees. It was an iterative process, combining education and activities, during a period of about six months. There have been four educational occasions for the managers, two for the employees, and six for the safety representatives. The safety representatives, together with some of the employees, have conducted improvement work at the workplace. The main topics addressed were lean production, systematic work environment management, and risk assessment. A trade association conducted the intervention, and it was supported by health and safety experts. Some parts of the training were conducted fora group of workplaces at the same time, while other activities and certain training components were conducted at individual workplaces. Safety motivation was measured over the course of six months.
