7.1 Definition of Failure:
7.1.1 The formation of any imperfection, such as a crack, which results in a loss of vapor pressure in sealed container or stress-cracking agent.
7.1.2 If the container has lost pressure through any aperture other than heat seal areas.
In the case of pressure loss through the heat seal, the test is invalid and requires rework from 6.1.
7.1.3 If there is any crack completely through the container wall, which is visible to an observer with normal eyesight.
7.1.4 If there is evidence of the contained liquid on the outside of the container through any aperture other than one at the heat-seal area, or the contained liquid volume has been reduced.
7.2 Pass - No evidence of cracking (observed inside or outside) following 28 days at 50°C.
7.3 Fail - If cracking develops in any of the tested bottles, the containers should be evaluated by the subject matter expert for possible causes.
