3.3. Dissolution of composite fruit tablets
3.3.1. Erosion test
Mixed fruit tablets prepared with two disintegrants and made into
tablets at 5 kN of load were used to study the erosion mechanism. Erosion study was carried out to investigate the ability of tablets to swell in
the medium. Tablets were dissolved in three different solutions: distilled water, 0.1 M HCl and 0.1 M citrate buffer. The erosion kinetics in
various media are presented in Fig. 3. The percentage of erosion reflects
the amount of tablet dissolved in the different media during the dissolution process. The erosion rate increased with increasing swelling time.
Adila et al. [4] reported similar findings with food tablets prepared
from date (Phoenix dactylifera L.) and spirulina (Spirulina sp.) powders
