One of the most important marine aquaculture businesses in Thailand is that of penaeid shrimp farming, and especially
Penaeus monodon (black tiger shrimps). In penaeid shrimps, the nutritional requirements of broodstock are less understood
than those of the other phases of production (Shiau, 1998), although the development of a suitable artificial diet for broodstock
maturation has been a subject of intensive study (Coman et al., 2007; Marsden et al., 1997; Meunpol et al., 2005).
