Thus the temple was originally built by the Khmers and has both Hindu and Buddhist elements.
Like most Buddhist temples, the buildings are aligned on an east-west axis, with the major images facing east.
When the Khmer temple was converted into a Thai Buddhist Wat, several structures were built east of the prangs:
a viharn; a chedi with seated Buddha reliefs; a reclining Buddha; and a mondop with four large standing Buddhas.
