Carbohydrates are macronutrients.They are one of the three main types of nutrients.Their chemical structure contain carbon , hydrogen and oxygen.There are three basic types of carbohydrates : simple starchy carbohydrates , complex starchy carbohydrates and complex fibrous carbohydrates.Simple starchy carbohydrates are carbohydrates which have a simple molecular and made up of 1-2 sugar molecules.The simplest form of them are glucose.Simple sugar that are found in foods include sucrose which found in table sugar, fructose which found in fruit, and lactose which found in milk. Complex starchy carbohydrates are carbohydrates which made up of sugars but they are strung together to form longer and more complex chains. They include whole grains, peas and beans, which are rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber.Complex fibrous carbohydrates are carbohydrates which rich sources of vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and other nutrients. They are full of fiber which is the indigestible portion of plant material such as vegetables.The purpose of this paper for study the benefits and disadvantages of carbohydrates include the important of carbohydrates.
